The Physical Medicine Clinic helps address rehabilitation needs of patients with functional impairments affecting development, activities of daily living, and mobility. Motor disability or problems can be associated with injury or abnormality of the brain, spinal cord, muscles, nerves, or genetic disorders. Rehabilitation management can include bracing, prescription for physical or occupational therapy, physical modalities, home stretching and exercise programs, and adaptive equipment.

The Renal Service at Texas Children’s Hospital is one of largest programs in the world, and provides diagnostic, therapeutic and long-term care for infants, children and adolescents with all forms of congenital and acquired kidney diseases.

Physicians in the Rheumatology Clinic see children with a range of rheumatic diseases.  Common conditions include junveile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile system lupus erythematosus and lupus spectrum disorders, dermatomyositis and polymyositis, scleroderma, and others.

We evaluate and treat common sleep disorders in children including problems falling asleep or staying asleep, sleepwalking and abnormal movements during sleep.  In addition, we treat narcolepsy, disorders of excessive daytime sleepiness, seizures during sleep and other medical and neurological problems that affect sleep.
