If you do not have access to Epic or Texas Children's Link, you can fill out one of our online or PDF forms to submit your referral request.
If Texas Children's is an out-of-network provider, health plans may still approve coverage for treatment with an out-of-network authorization. For non-emergent services, both an out-of-network authorization and single case agreement must be in place before services are provided.
Emergency services at a Texas Children’s Hospital emergency department does not require any prior authorization or pre-treatment agreement.
Patients with questions regarding the out-of-network process should contact their health insurance plan.
Admit a Patient
Admitting physician who needs to admit a patient?
To admit a patient to a Texas Children’s Hospital campus outside the Texas Medical Center (Austin, The Woodlands, West Campus), admitting physicians may also use the campus Direct Admit service.

Transfer a Patient
Texas Children's Kangaroo Crew works with referring physicians to offer specialized care to premature infants, babies and children with serious or life-threatening conditions. Transport of a patient to Texas Children's on Kangaroo Crew must be requested by a physician.
