Reflective Practice & Leadership Seminar for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellows

  • To increase the fellows’ ability to understand the psycho-social effects of illness and treatment on the child in ways that will enhance their ability to assist the child.
  • To increase the fellows’ ability to understand the psycho-social effects of the illness and treatment on the family in ways that will enhance their ability to assist the whole family.
  • To increase the fellows’ ability to understand the psycho-social effects of caring for a child with cancer and blood disorders on medical professionals in ways that will enhance their positive personal development over the course of their career.
  • To increase the fellows’ ability to understand psycho-social factors in ways that will enhance their ability to effectively lead health care teams and institutions.
  • To enhance the fellows’ general ability to reflect on and analyze complex situations, formulate working hypotheses about the situations, and take strategic action.
  • To improve the positive working relationships among participating fellows and other members of the department.
