Our clinics

Our multidisciplinary program includes several specialty services for this complex neurodevelopmental and genetic disorder that primarily affects the nervous system

The multidisciplinary team led by seven board-certified biochemical geneticists at Texas Children’s Metabolic Genetics Clinic provides comprehensive medical and dietary therapy to children and adults with inborn errors of metabolism.

Texas Children’s Neurofibromatosis Clinic provides specialty clinical care for children with a diagnosis of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Texas Children's Skeletal Dysplasia Clinic provides diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for patients from birth to adulthood with abnormalities of skeletal growth and strength.

Partnerships within Texas Children's

Children and families at risk for childhood cancer are evaluated by an internationally recognized geneticist and experienced genetic counselors at our Cancer Genetics Clinic to determine, among other things, the risk for cancer, if genetic testing is needed, how to prepare for a cancer diagnosis and how to minimize the risks of cancer.

Our Cardiovascular Genetics Program provides advanced diagnostic and longitudinal care to families with cardiovascular conditions that may be genetically mediated, including families with shared conditions. Our collaborative team connects patients with opportunities to participate in national and international research studies.

Cystic Fibrosis Care Center at Texas Children's provides comprehensive clinical services to help patients, families and referring physicians contend with the many difficulties of living with cystic fibrosis.

The primary goal of the Gender Medicine program is to enhance quality of life for children with disorders of sexual differentiation. Our multidisciplinary team of ethicists, psychologists, urologists, gynecologists, endocrinologists, geneticists, and psychologists collaborate to determine diagnosis, appropriate hormonal and surgical treatments, and sex assignment.

Our Obesity Clinic offers weight management and nutrition programs for patients that will ultimately create permanent lifestyle changes for improved health, overall well-being and to improve weight.

Because genetic mechanisms contribute to numerous renal diseases, especially in childhood, our Renal Genetics Clinic works to provide the most accurate molecular diagnoses possible. Although, there is not yet a cure for most of the genetic disorders, therapeutic measures can be given if the right diagnosis is known.
