The Developmental Assessment Clinic is the backbone of the Desmond Clinics. This clinic, housed at the Meyer Center for Developmental Pediatrics at the Stadium Drive Clinic Location of Texas Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive developmental evaluations with a developmental specialist for infants with or have potential for developmental disabilities including prematurity, low birth weight, prenatal complications, medical complications, genetic disorders, and more.
Housed within the Blue Bird Circle Clinics for Pediatric Neurology in the Mark Wallace Tower in the Medical Center Campus, the Infant Neurology Clinic provides comprehensive neurologic and developmental care to children with neurologic injury and medication management for the first year of life. Within this clinic, family’s seen in the Texas Children’s Fetal Center are also offered neurodevelopmental evaluations based on their personalized needs.
The Early Motor Disorders and Cerebral Palsy Evaluation Clinic housed within the Meyer Center for Developmental Pediatrics at the Stadium Drive Location is an interdisciplinary effort between neurodevelopmental neurology and physical medicine and rehabilitation to provide evidence-based early assessment and evaluation for children with a high potential for motor/movement disability such as cerebral palsy. Formal validated assessments of a child’s overall development with an emphasis on movement and motor needs will be completed at each visit.
The Soar Therapeutic Evaluation Program includes an interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals at the Woodlands Campus with specialized interest and training in neonatal and infant development and intervention. The Soar team works closely with medical specialists to ensure adequate evaluations and interventions are implemented in a timely fashion.
