Residencies

Because physicians from around the U.S. and world refer many of their most challenging patients to us, students and residents routinely care for patients with conditions rarely seen in most training programs. Medical student rotations and residency program training here include general medical and surgical inpatient services, subspecialty inpatient services, gynecology, obstetrics, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, outpatient clinics and emergency departments.

Fellowships

Texas Children’s provides fellows with advanced educational, research and training opportunities to improve maternal and pediatric outcomes. Through our academic partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, which has one of the nation’s largest ACGME‑accredited pediatric fellowship programs, our fellows engage in clinical, translational and basic research across a wide range of pediatric subspecialties.

"We have a common understanding of what we've been through. We have the same scar that runs down our chest.”

Pediatric cardiologist Thomas Glenn understands the fears and frustrations of children with congenital heart disease. Born with a single-ventricle heart defect—undergoing three surgeries and taking medication throughout his life—he feels a fellowship with those whose personal experiences inspired them to pursue careers in healthcare.
