Depression - Baby Blues

Postpartum maternal depression, sometimes called the “baby blues,” can be triggered by the major life change, change in sleep patterns and hormonal changes that come with having a new baby. It is also possible to have feelings of anxiety and a depressed mood. Pick a person to check in with each day to talk about how you are doing, especially if you are not doing well.

If you feel like you could hurt yourself or your infant, it is critical to let someone know immediately. Do not be ashamed and keep it secret. Talking about these feelings is the beginning of healing. Help is available. Contact your physician or other medical professional right away.
