Head Injury

Head injuries to a newborn and infant should be taken seriously. Acting unusually sleepy or fussy as well as vomiting can be signs that a serious head injury is present. Seek emergency care immediately.

Lumps and bumps on the head/skull

The skull bones contain many normal lumps, bumps and ridges. Do not expect the skull to feel smooth. These should not worry you unless they seem to cause pain. Lymph nodes are pea-sized, moveable lumps often found at the base of the skull at the back of the head. They are normal, too.
