Get to know William "Chris" Pederson, MD, FACS, FAAP
Dr. Pederson specializes in hand reconstruction, hand trauma, brachial plexus repair and lower limb reconstruction. He is a member of the Hand and Upper Extremity Program at West Campus. Dr. Pederson received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and plastic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He then completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Louisville Health Science Center in Louisville, Kentucky, followed by a fellowship in microsurgery research at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Pederson served as a director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and past president of the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and the American Association for Hand Surgery. He is on the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, on the Scientific Editorial Board of the Journal of Hand Surgery (American) and is an editor of the gold-standard textbook for hand surgery, Green’s Operative Hand Surgery.
Dr. Pederson is both board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery in “Surgery of the Hand."
