Your proven partner

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) has recognized Texas Children’s Hospital Medical Center campus as a Surgical Quality Partner, demonstrating our dedication to providing surgical teams with the tools and resources they need to provide the best care possible. High-quality surgery means greater access, fewer complications, lower cost of care and better outcomes.

Texas Children’s also participates in ACS’ Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) to ensure we are continually elevating trauma care for children and their families.

The highest level of care

Texas Children’s Hospital Medical Center campus is the only freestanding Level I pediatric trauma center in the Houston region. Level I designation means we can provide the full spectrum of trauma care for the most critically ill and injured children and adolescents. Our highly trained pediatric specialists, critical care nurses and support staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to care for the most serious health care needs.

In addition, our West Campus and Texas Children’s Hospital, The Woodlands are the only freestanding pediatric Level IV trauma centers in their respective regions. Our Austin location is currently pursuing a Level II designation. These centers provide easy access for traumatically injured children. When needed, our multidisciplinary team stabilizes critically injured patients for transfer to a Level I center.
