Programs and Services

We offer services to treat children dealing with any pulmonary issues. Our providers are involved in research about a wide range of common and rare pulmonary disorders. We offer specialty clinics focused on severe asthma, pulmonary hypertension, trachestomy and ventilator issues, aerodigestive multispecialty clinics, sickle cell focused pulmonary issues and more. We routinely treat patients referred to us from throughout Texas and the southern United States.

The Texas Children’s Asthma Center is staffed by members of the Pediatric Allergy/Immunology and Pulmonary Services. The center assists referring physicians in confirming a diagnosis of asthma for children with recurrent symptoms. We also treat children who have asthma that is difficult to control.

Serving children with complex airway and digestive tract disorders, our comprehensive and multidisciplinary program allows patients to be seen by multiple specialists in a single visit.

The Cystic Fibrosis Care Center (CF) at Texas Children's Hospital provides comprehensive clinical services to help patients, families and referring physicians deal with the many problems cystic fibrosis causes.

Interstitial lung disease is a general diagnostic term for a group of rare respiratory disorders that can affect infants, children, adolescents and adults. The causes for these diseases vary from genetic inheritance to acquired lung injury.

Texas Children's Lung Transplant Program is among the largest pediatric lung transplantation programs in the world and leads the nation in performing the most lung transplants each year.

The pulmonary diagnostic laboratory performs a number of diagnostic tests and procedures.

Since 2001, the Texas Children's Pulmonary Hypertension Program has been diagnosing and treating patients with pediatric pulmonary hypertension. In fact, Texas Children's Hospital has one of the few pulmonary hypertension programs in the United States dedicated to treating children.

With more than half a century of experience in caring for children's hearts, the Heart Center at Texas Children's Hospital combines cutting-edge technology with a compassionate and family-centered approach to pediatric cardiac care. 

Texas Children’s Sleep Center is one of the few accredited centers in the country specializing in children's sleep disorders. Studies show that 37% of children, from kindergarten through 4th grade, suffer from at least one sleep problem.
