Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery


The ACGME-accredited and POSNA-accredited Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery fellowship program at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital includes broad-based exposure to all aspects of pediatric orthopedics. During this 1-year fellowship, up to 3 fellows will spend time rotating through Texas Children’s Hospital. The faculty consists of 18 full-time pediatric orthopedists and 1 adjunct pediatric spine surgeon involved in all areas of pediatric musculoskeletal care. We offer Texas Children's Hospital Department of Surgery and Baylor College of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Grand Rounds, journal club, preoperative indications and postoperative review conferences, and didactic core curriculum lectures. Texas Children's Department of Surgery Research Division supports fellow research projects. Completing at least one clinical research project leading to manuscript publication in a peer-reviewed orthopedics journal is required.

Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship


The Orthopedic Physician Assistant Fellowship Program at Texas Children’s Hospital is the first of its kind in the country to provide a specialized training opportunity specifically for physician assistants. This intensive12-month didactic and clinical pediatric orthopedic training program ensures a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic surgical subspecialties, including hip, lower extremity, spine, sports, upper extremity, trauma, and tumor.

Community Surgical Physician Assistant Fellowship


The Community Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship Program at Texas Children’s Hospital is the first of its kind in the country to provide a specialized training opportunity specifically for physician assistants. This intensive12-month didactic and clinical pediatric training program ensures a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a full spectrum of pediatric community surgical subspecialties, including general pediatric surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, surgical hospitalists, and urology.

Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship


The Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship Program at Texas Children’s Hospital is the first of its kind in the country to provide a specialized training opportunity specifically for physician assistants. This intensive 12-month didactic and clinical pediatric training program ensures a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a full spectrum of pediatric surgical subspecialties, including congenital heart surgery, general pediatric surgery, hand/microsurgery, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, surgical hospitalists, transplant, trauma, and urology.

Texas Children’s / Baylor College of Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Research Fellowship


One-year funded opportunity is targeted to medical students interested in pediatric musculoskeletal clinical research. Fellows can hone skills in research methodology and participate in ongoing clinical research projects in a subspecialty area or areas of interest. For more information, please email OrthoResearch@texaschildrens.org

SICOT meets SICOT (SMS) Observership


The Division of Orthopedics collaborates with the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) to offer members of SICOT the opportunity to pursue a one or two-month long observership with our faculty at Texas Children’s Hospital. Visiting International Scholar Program (VISP)
