Texas Children’s Kidney Transplant Program is one of the largest pediatric renal/kidney transplant programs in the nation. Since 1988, surgeons at Texas Children’s have performed more than 600 kidney transplants in children.

The transplant team is dedicated to providing patients with excellent medical care, timely communication and family centered education. Texas Children's highly experienced team has transplanted kidney in children from newborns to young adults using both donated kidneys and living kidney donors.

A team of experts in all areas of patient care – including transplant surgeons, pediatric nephrologists, transplant coordinators, dietitians, child-life specialists and social workers — work together and focus on your child’s care. This multidisciplinary team responds to patient and family needs or emergencies and promotes teamwork in caring for patients.

In addition, supportive care is provided by the Pediatric Dialysis Program at Texas Children’s Hospital, which has expertise in performing acute and chronic hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and plasmapheresis for children of all ages and sizes from infant to adolescent.
