Manuscript by Rabin published in the 2023 Research Highlights from the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program

Dr. Karen Rabin, Director of the Leukemia Program at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center, and a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology-Oncology, at Baylor College of Medicine, published a recent manuscript that was included in the 2023 Research Highlights from the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP). Published in the journal Blood, the findings explore the genetic features of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in individuals with Down syndrome. In the paper, an international team of researchers used deep sequencing of 295 clinical cases to identify new subtypes of the disease as well  as novel treatment targets.
