Personal Statement
I believe genetic counseling is most effective when it centers on the individual and the values that matter most to them. Many of the patients and families I meet are feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about next steps, and I strive to provide clarity, confidence, and the space needed to make thoughtful, value-based decisions. My approach emphasizes active listening, respect for autonomy, and clear communication, with the goal of translating complex genetic information into something that feels personal, relevant, and practical for each family’s unique situation. I view health care as a partnership and work to support patients as they navigate uncertainty, recognizing that informed decision-making looks different for everyone.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter and taking advantage of all that Central Texas has to offer, which helps ground my perspective and reinforces the importance of family, balance, and community in the care I provide.
