Get to know Laura George, MS, CGC
Laura George is a certified Genetic Counselor for the Hematology Center at Texas Children’s Hospital. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado Genetic Counseling Program and is board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. Prior to her genetic counseling training, she completed a PhD in molecular biology at the University of Colorado, where she conducted research related to genetic variants and early development.
As a part of the hematology team, Laura coordinates genetic testing and provides education and support to patients and families undergoing genetic evaluation for inherited hematology disorders. She provides genetic counseling services to patients in the General Hematology Program, Hemostasis and Thrombosis Program, and Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Program, in addition to other programs at Texas Children’s Hospital.
