Texas Children’s Heart Transplant Program is one of the largest pediatric heart transplant programs in the nation. Since 1984, Texas Children’s surgeons have performed more than 500 heart transplants in children, a benchmark reached by only a few programs in the United States. The program is backed by all the resources of Texas Children’s Heart Center, which is ranked No. 1 in the nation for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report.

The transplant team is dedicated to providing patients with excellent medical care, timely communication and family centered education. The highly experienced team at Texas Children's has transplanted hearts in children from newborns to young adults from across the United States.

A team of experts in all areas of patient care – from heart transplant surgeons to pediatric cardiologists to transplant coordinators and dietitians, child life specialists, social workers, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists – focuses on your child’s care. This multidisciplinary team responds to patient and family needs or emergencies and promotes teamwork in caring for patients. The heart transplant program has access to more than 40 different subspecialties ensuring all parts of your child’s care will be addressed.
