August is National Dog Month, and we’re celebrating with a special video spotlighting Lawton, our dedicated facility dog at Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Center!
Lawton, a Golden-Labrador Retriever cross, is more than a furry friend—he’s a trained facility dog who helps children cope with hospital stays, treatments, and tough days through therapeutic play and emotional support. Thanks to Canine Companions for training him.
As part of our Pawsitive Play Program, Lawton and his fellow facility dogs work alongside child life specialists to bring comfort, connection and joy to patients and families.
