Kemi Olaiya Receives Early Career Award for Excellence in Patient Care and FWGBD Leadership Appointment
Kemi Olaiya, DO, FAAP, has received Baylor College of Medicine's Early Career Award for Excellence in Patient Care and has been appointed Co-Chair of the Education and Advocacy Subcommittee for the Foundation for Women & Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD) Learning Action Network (LAN).
The Early Career Award for Excellence in Patient Care honors Baylor College of Medicine faculty members who demonstrate clinical excellence and expertise, consistently high-quality patient care, professionalism, communication, leadership potential, and service to the Baylor community.
At Texas Children's, Dr. Olaiya cares for children and adolescents with sickle cell disease and other blood disorders, with a focus on improving outcomes through patient-centered care. Her award recognizes the excellence, leadership, and dedication she brings to this work every day.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Olaiya recently joined the FWGBD Learning Action Network as Co-Chair of its Education and Advocacy Subcommittee. In this leadership role, she will help guide efforts to educate healthcare professionals and share best practices in hematology care. The appointment reflects her ongoing commitment to health advocacy and improving care for individuals with blood disorders.
