Physicians on the pediatric neuro-oncology research program work closely together to improve the cure rates for children with brain tumors by using the latest treatments available.

At the same time, many in the team are engaged in a vigorous pursuit of the various molecular pathways in the brain by which these tumors develop. Understanding these pathways may lead to innovative therapies and cure while minimizing the side effects that are so often encountered with current treatments.

Our Developmental Therapeutics Program for new drug development is one of the best in the country and seeks to find cures and improve survival in children with brain tumors.

Our researchers engage in laboratory research to create new therapies which are then implemented and studied by a dedicated clinical research team. The program’s clinical and laboratory research efforts include:
