Get to know Tina Huey-Miin Chen, PhD
Dr. Tina Chen is deeply engaged in researching how cells can change, how tissues can regenerate, and what goes wrong in cancer. Right now, she is focused on combining genetics and the study of genes turning on and off to understand pediatric brain tumors better. Her strength lies in analyzing complex data to see the bigger picture of how biology works.
By deciphering the genetic mutations, gene expression patterns, and epigenetic modifications driving tumor formation and progression, Dr. Chen is uncovering potential therapeutic targets that disrupt tumor growth while minimizing harm to healthy tissues.
The ultimate goal of Dr. Chen's research is to elucidate the biological complexity of pediatric brain tumors and translating these findings into the development of novel precision medicines.
Her work has been published in Nature Communications, Cell Reports, Cancers, and STAR Protocols.
She is a member of the laboratory of Marco Gallo, PhD.
