Shannon Clark, PhD

Shannon Clark, PhD, is a pediatric psychologist at Texas Children’s Hospital North Austin campus who specializes in working with youth and families affected by various medical conditions. She works with patients in the outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital setting, assessing and providing treatment for pain and illness management, coping and adjustment, mood and behavioral concerns, and adherence concerns. Dr. Clark utilizes a biopsychosocial approach to caring for families that acknowledges the combination of physical, psychological, and social contributors to health and wellbeing. Specific methods to support children in feeling in more control of their conditions and overall wellbeing include cognitive-behavioral, bio-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral and hypnotherapeutic techniques. Dr. Clark’s clinical interests include fostering the mind-body connection, complex functional disorders, and the use of therapeutic assessment to aid in helping children and families understand both physical and emotional symptoms.
