Personal Statement
Russell Collins, PA-C is a physician assistant and clinical lead of the Surgical Hospitalist team. He and the team provide care for multiple, high-volume surgical services including general pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedics, ENT, and urology. As an American Board of Wound Management certified wound specialist, he also treats patients admitted with advanced and complex wounds.
Russell cares for patients in the emergency room setting as well as on inpatient floors. He takes pride in providing compassionate care to his patients and making sure that they and their families have a full understanding of their disease process and treatment plan.
Russell received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University and later earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University. He is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is medically licensed through the Texas Medical Board. He has been a member of the Texas Children’s Surgical Hospitalist team since 2018.
Clinical Interests: advanced laceration repairs, hand injuries, and other bedside procedures for the surgical specialties in his professional spectrum.
