Personal Statement
Nicole Triggs, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC, CPN is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Texas Children’s Hospital. She cares for children with liver diseases in the outpatient setting at the Texas Children's Hospital Medical Center and Sugar Land Health Center. She has a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in both children and adolescents, biliary atresia, liver transplant, autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). She provides her patients and families with the information they need to understand and actively participate in their own care. She also has a special interest in Quality Improvement in outcomes. Nicole is also co-investigator in numerous research trials in the areas of biliary atresia, NAFLD/NASH and cholestatic liver disease.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Kansas Newman College in Wichita, Kansas and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing – Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. She is Board Certified with the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board of Nursing. Nicole has been a pediatric nurse for 22 years and has been involved in all aspects of pediatric care. Prior to working as a Nurse Practitioner, Nicole worked as a pediatric nurse in Texas Children's Hospital Emergency Department, and as a Travel Nurse throughout the U.S.
