Kiara Redmon is a Physician Assistant with the Pediatric Surgery Surgical Hospitalist team at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. She provides comprehensive perioperative and inpatient surgical care, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality, family-centered treatment for children across a wide range of surgical subspecialties.
Kiara first joined Texas Children’s Hospital through the Pediatric Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship, where she developed advanced procedural skills and a strong foundation in pediatric surgical practice. In her current role, she manages pre- and post-operative patients, evaluates new inpatient consultations and serves as first assist in the operating room. She is experienced in bedside procedures, wound management, emergency surgical support and complex care coordination.
In addition to her clinical work, Kiara is deeply invested in surgical education. She serves as Clerkship Director for the West Campus Surgical Hospitalist Rotation within the Texas Children’s Hospital Surgery PA Fellowship, where she oversees curriculum design, trainee assessment and procedural skill development. She also leads recurring suturing and laparoscopic simulation workshops for PA fellows and Advanced Practice Providers, helping strengthen procedural competency across the department.
She is committed to advancing collaborative, compassionate surgical care while contributing to the growth of future pediatric surgical APPs.
Personal Statement
I am a Physician Assistant with the Pediatric Surgery Surgical Hospitalist team at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus, where I care for children throughout their surgical journey. My clinical practice includes managing pre- and post-operative patients, performing bedside procedures, assisting in the operating room and collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, seamless care.
I am passionate about education and believe strongly in supporting the growth of developing clinicians. As Clerkship Director for the West Campus Surgical Hospitalist Rotation in the Surgery PA Fellowship, I work to create a structured, supportive learning environment that emphasizes clinical decision-making, procedural skill building and professional development. I also enjoy teaching foundational and advanced surgical skills through suture workshops and laparoscopic simulation sessions for PA fellows and APPs.
My goal is to provide excellent patient care while helping shape confident, capable, and compassionate pediatric surgical providers. I am committed to continuous learning, collaborative practice and ensuring that every child and family receives thoughtful, high-quality care.
