Dr. Lang is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in Pediatric Psychology, assessing and treating children with a variety of medical conditions. She also conducts pre-surgical psychological evaluations for patients through both the Bariatric Surgery and Breast Surgery programs at Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands.
Dr. Lang utilizes evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and parent management training to provide tailored care and best meet each patient and family's individual needs. Her clinical work focuses on adjustment to medical diagnoses, adherence to medical treatment, coping with procedures and behavior management challenges. Dr. Lang also works with each family unit to support effective communication styles.
Personal Statement
As a pediatric psychologist, I am committed to providing evidence-based care to my patients and their families through a flexible approach that is sensitive to each patient's unique characteristics and needs. I strive to best support patients so they may gain coping tools necessary to improve quality of life within the context of new and pre-existing medical conditions. For patients who are surgical candidates, I provide tailored evaluation of psychological functioning to best support medical outcomes and inform clinical decision-making within a multidisciplinary team approach.
