About

As clinic chief of the Pediatric Rheumatology Center of Texas Children's Hospital, Dr. de Guzman has worked to redefine the elements of maintaining excellent, relevant and up-to-date care of children and adolescents with arthritis, lupus and lupus spectrum diseases, systemic vasculitis, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, autoinflammatory disorders and other rheumatologic conditions. Her dedicated and highly skilled team of pediatric rheumatologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, social worker, nutritionist, child life specialists and administrative staff have the unwavering dedication and commitment to deliver prompt, compassionate and best possible care to these group of patients and their families.

Dr. de Guzman and her team established a dedicated clinic for children and adolescents with systemic lupus, with the goal of not only providing excellent and comprehensive patient care but to develop and strengthen education and research of this systemic autoimmune disease.  Dr. de Guzman also envisions the establishment of vasculitis clinic as well as a long term follow-up clinic (e.g. for patients who received biologic agents) at Texas Children's Hospital.

Education has been one of Dr. de Guzman's passions and she is committed to providing learning and teaching in pediatric rheumatology.  Dr. de Guzman maintains a teaching and professional relationship with several institutions and organizations in Asia.
