Dr. Silva-Carmona received his medical degree from Universidad de Monterrey. He is trained and certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology. He works in the intensive care unit as a pediatric intensivist and a pediatric pulmonologist.
Dr. Silva-Carmona leads the Texas Children’s Hospital Rare and Interstitial Lung Disease Program and his clinical and research interests are in pediatric rare lung diseases. These include children’s interstitial lung disease, lung disease related to immunologic disorders, bone marrow transplantation and rheumatologic conditions. He has a special interest in the diagnosis, treatments and outcomes on patients that are critically ill due to rare lung diseases.
