Complex Urological Reconstruction Program

Texas Children's Hospital is the only hospital in the south central and south western part of the country with a program specifically dedicated to the medical care and reconstructive surgery of children with complex urogenital malformations. These conditions are rare and therefore require not only a multidisciplinary team approach but also individual physicians with experience and expertise in the treatment of these children.

Under the direction of Dr. Paul Austin, our Complex Urological Reconstruction Program aims to provide the most state-of-the-art, expedient and compassionate care to these patients and their families. Patients with most of these complex urogenital malformations have medical needs spanning multiple fields and requiring various different physicians. We therefore offer a cooperative group of expert physicians.

Patients with anorectal malformations (cloaca, cloacal exstrophy and imperforate anus) are also treated in our multidisciplinary Colorectal & Pelvic Health Program.
