HOUSTON - (May 13, 2014) - The Department of Pediatric Radiology at Texas Children's Hospital will set a record, presenting 22 scientific abstracts during the 57th Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course of the Society for Pediatric Radiology held May 13 through 17, in Washington, D.C. "For a second year in a row, our outstanding team of physicians, researchers and clinical staff are gaining national recognition, presenting more abstracts than ever before," says Dr. George Bisset, past president of The Radiological Society of North America, chief of the Department of Pediatric Radiology at Texas Children's Hospital and professor of radiology at Baylor College of Medicine. "Showcasing the immense expertise of the department, our presentations will address numerous subspecialties, including cardiac, fetal, gastrointestinal, neurologic, oncologic, and renal imaging."
This Annual Meeting of the Society for Pediatric Radiology brings together leading experts in the field from around the world to discuss the most current information on state-of-the-art pediatric imaging and the practice of pediatric radiology. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to share common challenges facing pediatric radiologists and examine possible solutions. Each year, pediatric radiologists use this international conference as a forum to evaluate and apply means of minimizing radiation exposure during diagnostic imaging and image-guided therapy for children to help improve the safety and advance the field even further.
