Porea honored for Outstanding Mentorship of Baylor Pediatric Residents

Dr. Tim Porea at Texas Children’s Hospital is this year’s recipient of the Jan Drutz, MD, Society Award. This reward highlights the significant contributions that Dr. Porea has made to medical education at Baylor College of Medicine.  

This is second time he has received this reward in the past 4 years. Serving as a coach and mentor, he ensures residents have the support they need to be successful. Dr. Porea’s unwavering dedication to young trainees serves as shining example of Texas Children’s dedication to training the next generation of world class doctors.  

Dr. Porea is the Associate Director of the Clinical Division (Inpatient) at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center. He is also a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology/Oncology, at Baylor College of Medicine.
