Dr. Zhandong Liu Awarded Silicon Valley Community Foundation Grant

HOUSTON - (Nov. 19, 2025) Zhandong Liu, PhD, investigator at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, Chief of Computational Sciences at Texas Children's Hospital and associate professor in the department of Pediatrics, Section Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine has been awarded a prestigious grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation for his project, "Benchmarking for Variant Interpretation".  With this grant, Dr. Liu will generate high-quality, real-world training and benchmarking datasets for interpreting rare disease variants and to extend and enhance AI MARRVEL into a more scalable, comprehensive variant prioritization platform.
