Parking lots and garages near Texas Children's Hospital are operated by the Texas Medical Center Parking Services. For more additional information about available parking, garage locations, and parking services, call the TMC helpline at 713-791-6161 or visit them online.
Valet parking is available for Texas Children’s Hospital at the entrances to West Tower and Pavilion for Women 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Valet parking at the Wallace Tower is available Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 7 pm. There is a flat $13 charge for each 24-hour period (in-and-out privileges are not permitted; additional charges would apply).
Visitors to the hospital’s main emergency room, and visitors that will be arriving or departing outside of business hours, should use valet service at West Tower.
Self parking is available at several TMC garages near or beneath Texas Children’s Hospital buildings:
On Fannin between Texas Children’s Hospital and Methodist Hospital. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
On the corner of Holcombe Blvd. and Richard J.V. Johnson Ave. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Under the West Tower at 6621 Fannin St., entrance via Fannin St. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Under the Wallace Tower at 6701 Fannin St., entrance via Fannin St. to Bates. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Under the Pavilion for Women and Legacy Tower at 6651 Main St. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
$5 for the first hour and gradual increases up to $12 per 24-hour period.
Discounted Rates with Prepaid SmartChips (valid only at Garages 12 and 16)
Pre-paid SmartChips provide discounted parking rates and unlimited in-and-out privileges at Garages 12 and 16 (Clinical Care Center). They can be purchased at the pay stations in the elevator lobbies on the B2 levels in these two garages.
There are 2 options available:
- $52 Pre-paid SmartChip - $60 in parking value
- $100 Pre-paid SmartChip - $115 in parking value
Both the $52 and $100 Pre-paid SmartChips are activated upon your next visit after purchase. The next time you visit, simply insert the SmartChip into the slot at the entry station to the garage, then use it again when you exit the garage. The pre-paid SmartChips do not expire, so the same chip may be used each time you visit. A maximum of $12 will be debited from your Pre-paid SmartChips for each calendar day (midnight to midnight) parked at either Garage 12 or 16.
Discounted Offsite Parking
Additional parking is available at the South Extension Visitor Lot (SEV Lot) via the Blue TMC METRO Shuttle, and is located at 1522 S. Braeswood and William C. Harvin Blvd. The maximum fee is $6 a day. The shuttle stops about half a block from Texas Children's Hospital West Tower and operates weekdays between 4:30 am and 10:40 pm free of charge. The shuttle does not operate on weekends. The average commute between the SVE Lot and Texas Children's Hospital West Tower is approximately 10 minutes depending on traffic.
You may also park in Metro’s Fannin South Lot, which is located on Fannin St. just outside the 610 loop behind Sam’s Club. The parking fee is $3 and to get to Texas Children’s, ride the Metro Rail for $1.25 each way and exit the train at the Dryden/TMC stop.
The Complimentary Shuttle Service

Patient and Visitor Parking and Patient Drop-off
Self-parking and valet parking in the West Tower and Wallace Tower is reserved exclusively for patients, parents and visitors.
