Improving access

Texas Children's Hospital believes that one of the best ways to advance the health and well-being of underserved communities is to bring services, support and education right to families in their own neighborhoods.

Texas Children’s Hospital was founded in 1954 on the belief that all children deserve access to health care, regardless of where they live or a family’s ability to pay. Today, our Community Benefit program initiatives are aimed at providing access to care and health insurance and are a key component in fulfilling this legacy.

While the hospital’s financial assistance policy is an integral part of this plan, we believe that one of the best ways to advance the health and well-being of underserved communities is to bring services, support and education right to families in their own neighborhoods through Community Cares primary care practices, mobile clinics and other relevant, family-centered programs.
