Get to know Yasmine Anne Koukaz, MD, MPH
Dr. Koukaz is a physician who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and Board Eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She currently sees patients in the emergency centers at Texas Children's Hospital and also works as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Ben Taub Hospital. She is fluent in French, English, and Spanish and has a passion for caring for patients of various backgrounds. Her academic interests include global, public and immigrant health as well as disaster medicine, humanitarian response, and simulation-based education. She has experience working in Central and Southern Africa, the Middle East, and Central America. In these locations she has been involved in education for local health care workers, development and evaluation of health education programs, and supervision and education in acute care pediatric wards. She is passionate about empowering local communities to improve health outcomes for all and in training the next generation of physicians at home and abroad. In addition, she strives to provide wholistic care for patients of all ages, while also working to bridge her interests across pediatric and adult specialties.

I am also dedicated to training and supervising the next generation of physicians to provide high-quality, compassionate, comprehensive care.
