Personal Statement
My philosophy in life is to live each day as the best version of myself, embracing lessons from the past and holding onto the promise of a brighter future. I lead my life with purpose, guided by passions that have shaped my journey. These passions have afforded me opportunities to play collegiate sports, explore other countries, and build a strong sense of community – a value deeply rooted in my large Afro-Caribbean family. We celebrate life through shared stories, food, laughter, and vibrant gatherings filled with music and artistic expression.
As someone from an underrepresented background, I am committed to providing the same level of compassionate care to my patients that I would want for my own loved ones. I am equally dedicated to empowering the next generation of physicians to do the same. Inspired by the words of Nelson Mandela, “Health cannot be a question of income; it is a fundamental human right,” I strive to ensure that everyone has access to high-quality, equitable, and evidence-based care. By doing so, I hope to help others discover their passions and purpose—the fuel that drives meaningful change for a better tomorrow.
