Personal Statement
Tanisha K. George Daugherty, MMS, PA-C is a Physician Assistant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. She helps support the volume of a demanding service, including seeing patients in the outpatient clinic and emergency room, inpatient rounding and management of care, and assisting in the operating room. Her major area of interest and expertise is in fracture management, scoliosis, and gait abnormalities. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she serves as co-director of the Physician Assistant Students that rotate through the Orthopaedic Division.
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Tanisha received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Tennessee State University in 2004. She earned both her Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and Master’s Degree in Medical Science at Nova Southeastern University in 2007.
Tanisha’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Gulf Coast Physician Assistant Association, Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery, and Pediatric Orthopaedic Practitioners Society. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
