Get to know Stephen A. Manning, MD, MPH
Dr. Manning is a Pediatrician who specializes in the care of hospitalized children. He utilizes evidence-based practices in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions and has contributed to the development of new evidence-based guidelines for Texas Children's. Dr. Manning aims to provide clear and collaborative care with patients and their families throughout a hospitalization, and he works with both the Texas Children’s Patient Experience committee and the national Patient Experience Collaborative to address family needs.
He is an educational leader within his department, supervising the training of medical students and pediatric residents. Dr. Manning has an interest in caring for medically complex and special needs children, including those with technology dependence and augmentative and alternative communication devices.
Personal Statement
I am grateful for the opportunity and responsibility to care for your child at Texas Children's Hospital. I chose to become a pediatrician because of the chance to work with patients and their families during a hospitalization, and I believe in clear and collaborative communication throughout a hospitalization and the transition back home. I take a professional interest in working with medical students and pediatric residents, and I serve on national and local committees pursuing the improvement in patient experience. I am a lifelong Texan, Houston sports fan, and father of two toddlers.
