Senol Bekmez, MD

Dr. Senol Bekmez is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in the care of children and adolescents with complex musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical practice focuses on neuromuscular orthopedics, pediatric hip surgery and lower extremity reconstruction, with a particular expertise in children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida and other neuromuscular disorders.

Dr. Bekmez provides individualized, evidence-based care, including neuromuscular hip surveillance and reconstruction, management of pediatric hip disorders, and correction of lower extremity deformities to improve mobility, function and quality of life. His research focuses on neuromuscular orthopedics, pediatric hip disorders and strategies to optimize surgical outcomes for children with complex orthopedic conditions. He serves as a Senior Scientist at Baylor College of Medicine.

Personal Statement

In my perspective, caring for children with underlying neuromuscular conditions requires more than treating a diagnosis — it is a combination of understanding each child’s unique goals, challenges and potential. I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care through open communication, active listening and collaboration with children and their families.

For children with complex orthopedic conditions, I believe the best outcomes are achieved through a team-based approach that involves patients, families, therapists and health care providers working together. My goal is to create individualized treatment plans that focus not only on improving mobility and function, but also on enhancing each child’s independence and quality of life.
