Dr. Lyons’ clinical and scholarly interests aim to improve the medical care and health outcomes of children, adolescents, and emerging adults with diabetes and endocrine conditions, particularly during their transition from pediatric to adult healthcare. In her role as the Director of Quality & Safety for Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology at Texas Children’s Hospital, she oversees the clinic’s population health improvement teams focused on delivering the highest quality of care for youth with diabetes and endocrine conditions. Her work in transition from pediatric to adult diabetes care spans research, education, and clinical outreach programs.
