Personal Statement
Paige N. Wheaton, MPAS, PA-C, ATC is a Physician Assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. She works with Dr. Nicole Montgomery as part of the Texas Children’s Orthopedic Oncology Program. She helps support a demanding service by evaluating and treating children in outpatient clinics and assisting in the operating room. In addition to managing general orthopedic injuries and conditions, her main areas of interests and expertise are in benign bone tumors, soft tissue tumors, sarcoma of bone, and fracture management. Paige’s clinical philosophy is to put the patient first and listen to their needs while providing a team-based approach to obtain the best possible outcome. She takes great pride in her work at Texas Children’s Hospital and aims to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to meet the needs of her patients and their families.
Paige earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at Texas Wesleyan University in 2015 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Baylor College of Medicine in 2020. After obtaining her Physician Assistant degree, Paige completed an extra year of training through the Pediatric Orthopedic Physician Assistant Fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital, the first of its kind in the country. Here she gained unique hands-on experience in a full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic surgical subspecialties under the direct leadership of the Texas Children’s Orthopedic Surgeons.
Clinical Interests:
Paige’s clinical and research interests include benign bone tumors, bone cysts, multiple hereditary exostosis, fibrous dysplasia, soft tissue tumors, sarcoma of bone, musculoskeletal infections, lower limb deformity, and fracture care and management.
