Get to know Nicole H. Cirino, MD
For the past 20 years, Dr. Cirino has worked in the field of reproductive psychiatry (also known as women’s mental health or perinatal psychiatry). She provides reproductive psychiatry outpatient clinical care and consultation liaison services for women with perinatal, perimenstrual and perimenopausal psychiatric conditions, as well as disorders of female sexual dysfunction. This includes but is not limited to postpartum depression, perinatal loss, sexual trauma and related conditions, postpartum psychosis, perinatal obsessive compulsive disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder and other mental health conditions that occur during the reproductive life span. Dr. Cirino also teaches clinical aspects of reproductive psychiatry to more than 800 medical clinicians a year. She serves in leadership roles on many national committees, including Postpartum Support International, American Psychiatric Association, International Society of Reproductive Psychiatrists and International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.
Additionally, Dr. Cirino received post-graduate training at Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in 2002, and at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center for Women's Health in 2003.
