Mishi Bhushan, MD, MPH

Dr. Mishi Bhushan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Coagulation with clinical expertise in transfusion medicine, coagulation, and hematopathology. She is board certified in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and is board eligible in Hematopathology. Her academic interests include transfusion safety, therapeutic apheresis, hematologic malignancies and laboratory quality improvement. Dr. Bhushan has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented her research at national meetings, including the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies and the American Society for Apheresis. She is an active member of several national professional organizations and is committed to medical education through resident and fellow teaching in transfusion medicine and hematopathology.

Personal Statement

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Coagulation with clinical interests in transfusion medicine, coagulation and hematopathology. My work focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based laboratory services while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams to improve patient care.

My academic interests include therapeutic apheresis, transfusion safety, laboratory quality improvement and hematologic disorders. I have authored peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national meetings on topics including therapeutic plasma exchange, transfusion practices, and hematopathology. I am an active member of several national professional organizations and enjoy teaching residents and fellows, with a particular interest in mentoring trainees and advancing education in transfusion medicine and hematopathology.

I am committed to providing exceptional patient care through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in laboratory medicine while contributing to research and education that advances the field.
