Get to know Meredith Howell, PT, MSPT, CBIS
Meredith completed her undergraduate education at Drury University majoring in biology with a focus on exercise sport science. She then earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy (MSPT) at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Meredith had the opportunity to work at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, world renowned for their dedication to interdisciplinary rehabilitation in patients with brain and spinal cord injuries. Additionally, Meredith is certified as a Clinical Brain Injury Specialist through the American Association of Brain Injury Specialists.
Meredith is the Sports Physical Therapy Residency Director and the Site Coordinator of Clinical Education at Texas Children's Hospital. She provides administrative support throughout the implementation of the residency and mentoring to university students and their instructors at the institution. She developed the first physical therapy residency program at Texas Children's that received accreditation by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education in 2017. She continues to educate practitioners in the department on her interests of rehabilitation, pediatrics, and treatment techniques for patients with neurological deficits.
