Personal Statement
As an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with more than three decades of clinical experience in rheumatology, Martha believes that helping children and families manage and understand chronic autoimmune disease is a vocation and a joy. She is also a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner whose in-depth knowledge and experience of pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions enable her to meet the specialized needs of her patients in the areas of health maintenance and promotion, and assessment and management of disease processes.
From Ms. Curry:
Thirty-five years in the rheumatology clinic setting has taught me to listen to each child’s unique experience, share what I have learned and ask enough questions to build a plan together. Patient education is a common thread in everything I do in the clinic and it is woven into the care I provide to patients.
