Get to know Ivory White, MS, RN, FNP-C
Ivory White is a nurse practitioner for the outpatient Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Program at Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center. As a member of the bone marrow transplant team, she has worked with various conditions, such as: multiple myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, sickle cell disease, and an array of other blood disorders.
She decided to join the bone marrow transplant team at Texas Children's Hospital because it has become second nature to her. She enjoys learning about the patients and families, where they come from, and what they look forward to. It is a humbling experience to be apart of someone's stem cell/bone marrow transplant journey. With passion, Ivory studies to understand blood disorders and immunodeficiencies of each presenting child.
Prior to joining Texas Children's, Ivory studied at Texas Women's University, with a passion to acclimate to pediatrics and a desire to contribute to research. She aims to study a specific population(s) linked to correlating oncologic/hematologic disorders in efforts to provide the community with specific preventative strategies (i.e., foods to avoid, occupations, climates, and/or lifestyle changes).
She previously worked at Houston Methodist Hospital for six years as a Cell and Gene Therapy Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant nurse. As a member of the Texas Children's Hospital team, she is qualified as a Family Nurse Practitioner to continue her endeavors in this subspecialty.
