Personal Statement
Erin Schulte, MSPAS, PA-C is a Physician Assistant with the Surgical Hospitalist Team at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. After completing her master’s degree from Shenandoah University in 2019, she completed the Texas Children’s Pediatric Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship. During that year she gained numerous skills including quality patient care, critical thinking and invaluable experience in the operating room caring for patients across the diverse pediatric surgery subspecialities Texas Children’s Hospital offers. Following the fellowship, Erin joined the West Campus Surgical Hospitalist Team to continue her growth as a provider.
Erin’s role includes first assisting surgeons of various specialties in the operating room, evaluating patients in the emergency room for surgical concerns and trauma management, providing daily care for surgical patients during their inpatient stay at the hospital and performing procedures at bedside when appropriate. Her clinical interests include laceration repairs, bedside procedures, post-operative management of appendectomies and educating patients and their families during the post-operative period. In addition to Erin’s medical role at the hospital, she enjoys participating in Texas Children’s Community Outreach Committee to provide aid to the local region through fundraisers and various activities.
Erin received her undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from George Mason University. She then proceeded to obtain a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University. She is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and medically licensed through the Texas Medical Board.
