Get to know Dana Meschwitz, LCSW
After completing her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, Dana began her career providing counseling to survivors of sexual trauma. While she enjoyed that work, she found her true calling working with OB/GYN patients at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. There, she had the opportunity to learn the impact of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders on mothers and their families. After moving to Houston, Dana was thrilled for the opportunity to continue working with perinatal patients at Texas Children’s Hospital. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), her role with the Texas Children’s Fetal Center includes assisting patients with resources related to relocation, basic needs, mental health and emotional support.
The perinatal period in a person’s life is both exciting and difficult at times. High-risk pregnancies especially can come with many challenges and unexpected changes. I am passionate about supporting patients and their families through both the difficult and beautiful moments during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. I consider myself lucky to be a part of this compassionate, innovative team.
