Personal Statement
My philosophy of care includes not only providing outstanding care to every patient but also to the family members and loved ones by their side throughout the duration of their care. My role involves creating a welcoming environment built on trust and compassion which incorporates the child’s full inner circle of support and encouragement. I made my career in medicine to care for people in their most vulnerable state — which also involves parents and family members. I strive to make all members of the patient’s support team feel heard and acknowledged while I am caring for their loved one. The hospital or clinic can be an overwhelming environment for patients and their families and I hope to make that experience a little more comforting.
Clinical Interests
I work in both the inpatient unit and the outpatient clinic for the General Surgery Team. On the inpatient unit, I enjoy getting to be a part of multidisciplinary approaches to caring for an individual patient. In the outpatient clinic, I enjoy working specifically with our pectus carinatum patients, our breast mass patients, those with gastrostomy buttons and anyone else who may require our assistance.
