Get to know Amit Thakral, MD, MBA
As a pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Thakral is dedicated to providing compassionate care to children and their families. He earned his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University in the Grand Cayman Islands, followed by residency training in pediatrics at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then completed a three-year fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He also obtained an MBA with an emphasis in health care administration from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Thakral has broad experience in pediatric rheumatic diseases and enjoys seeing patients with all types of autoimmune conditions. He has a particular interest in increasing access to care and strives to find ways to improve patient care while also increasing clinical efficiency. As a native Houstonian, he is proud to provide care to patients and families in his hometown.
